Katana X is a VR sword simulator in which you practice your swordsmanship skills by slicing up fruit, completing challenging combos and executing precise strikes. In addition to fruit, you can practice your swordplay against Japanese tatami mats.
A virtual sword gym
If you've played other VR sword titles like Fruit Ninja, you'll be familiar with the basics of Katana X. Although this game largely adheres to an established formula, it has a number of strong features. For instance, strikes that hit but don't deliver enough force will leave you with fruit stuck on your blade, forcing you to shake it off. A very light hit, or one where the edge isn't properly aligned, could even make your target bounce away, costing you the game. You can choose whether to play against tatami mats or fruit, as well as selecting a difficulty level. This room-scale game will give you plenty of exercise as you swing to hit the ever-increasing number of targets.
A fine VR sword simulator
If you're looking for a VR sword game, Katana X could be a strong choice: it's simple but well-executed, and the motion controls feel smooth and natural. If you're not, there isn't much else to this game.
